Artists and hosts from across the continent
Fill in the form below to submit your application in one of the competing categories. It takes about 10 minutes — keep your documents (photo, press book, passport, video or audio) on hand.
Cotonou 2026
Eligibility requirements
- Hold the nationality of the African country you will represent.
- Be a musician, singer/performer or group of artists (male or female) performing Afro Ethnic Music or Urban Music (Rap, RnB, Salsa, Zouk, Reggae, etc.).
- Have released at least 1 work (album, EP or single).
- Be able to cover your round-trip travel to Cotonou (Benin).
- Represent your country at the 20th edition of Festival SICA.
Accommodation, meals and transport are covered by the festival.
The entry visa is free for African artists.
NB: Boost your chances during voting by teaming up with influencers from your country.
SICA Awards

Grand Prize for African Integration
Awarded to a leading political figure working for the development of African culture.
ApplySICA Afro Ethnic Music Award
Rewards the artist or group with the most points in the Afro Ethnic category.
ApplySICA Urban Music Award
Rewards the competition's best African Urban Music artist (Rap, RnB, Salsa, Zouk, Reggae, etc.).
ApplySICA Live Presenter Award
Rewards the host who presents their country and artist live on stage.

Scoring criteria —
the overall score is calculated out of 20 points: 14 points for musical quality, arrangement and stage performance, and 6 points for online sharing and the public vote. 20% of vote proceeds go to the winners of the Afro Ethnic Music, Urban Music and Live Presenter categories.
